7/13/24 Celebrating a milestone bday with auntie -- 75th Originally, Hubby & I were on our way to Torrance Certified Farmers Market. Then my sister texts, "hey ate are you headed to auntie's bday celebration?" Oh crap ! I almost forgot (technically, I did) So we turned around to go back home to puck up the card & gift (wrap it) & head towards Covina. This Town Sent is my auntie's go to for celebrating occasions. Food is usually great tasting & service is pretty good. It's a set menu so we were served the usual suspects: egg/corn soup, Chinese broccoli with oyster sauce, fried fish, beef broccoli, fried chicken, seafood chow mein & fried pork chops. These arrived in a good spaced amount of time. We were seated in the back room & it was fairly warm coz of the many bodies crammed in there. The mini banquet room held approximately 80 people. It was not easy squeezing by anyone when you needed to walk by any table to fet in & out of this room. I have to admit, the few times we asked for anything (vinegar, more rice or water), the servers brought it back quickly. They usually didn't acknowledge the ask but they came through either way. It's always nice to have a family favorite place to patronize when you know you will get what you expect.

This is our family's go-to spot and has been since day one of its opening. They're most well known for having the most authentic cantonese food around at a reasonable price. They make great food and have a skilled team that's been there for decades. My personal favorite / comfort food is their tilapia soup -- it's a bit on the plainer side so you can ask for pepper but whenever I'm not feeling well or need a pick me up, that's my go to. Don't let their (sometimes) brash attitudes and the restaurant's appearance bother you since their priority has always been about the food. Absolutely love this place.

This place has been a favorite of my family's for like 15-20 years it seems. They are always fast, friendly and attentive. They recognize us and greet us every time with ah hi, thousand year old pork and honey walnut shrimp? Which is my go to. My reason for coming lol. There are always people there eating. Thousand year old pork. Honey walnut shrimp. Bbq pork lo mein. Volcano beef with pepper sauce. Eggplant with garlic sauce. Orange beef. Eggdrop soup. Try the chili oil on the table. It's fantastic. We go through an entire jar during our meal. :/ Their menu is huge. Only negative I have, they don't have fountain drinks. They have cans and possibly two liters. But their water is good. One of my favorite places to eat.

Our local favorite Chinese restaurant. Lots of good food... everything is good!!! Lunch specials are a good deal - if you eat in, you get soup and white rice included. This place has been here for years. Providing good quality authentic Chinese food. You don't have to go to Chinatown, anymore. Our favorite must tries: honey walnut shrimp, pepper steak, beef chow mein crispy noodles, Yang Chow fried rice, sizzling rice soup, salt and pepper crispy pork chops, eggplant with garlic sauce, orange chicken and so on and so on and so on. Everything is delish!!!
